Chinesischer Premierminister in Ungarn - Offener Brief vom ungarischen Falun Dafa Verein
Open Letter to President of the Republic of Hungary, and to the country representatives
On June 21, 2011, the Hungarian Falun Dafa Association of Hungary informed the National Police Headquarters of a peaceful demonstration to be held on June 24th and 25th, 2011, during which time Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao would be in Budapest to meet with Hungarian representatives. We explained that our peaceful demonstration aims to inform people about the brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, and to present the principles of Falun Dafa, which are Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.
Wednesday afternoon we were told by the police that they plan to ban this event. The organizers have been asked to withdraw their notice, and they were warned that if they do not, all future requests to demonstrate would be refused. Though this order can be challenged in court, it is obvious that the court will not be able to rule before the events transpire.
Hungarian law's 1989th Act III stipulates only two reasons in which such applications may be denied: 1. if the event announced is bound to seriously jeopardize the operation of the people's representative bodies or of the courts; 2. if the traffic can not be rerouted. As this demonstration is peaceful and the routes are left unobstructed, we understand this event can not be placed in either of these categories. We thus believe the police are under pressure to abuse the law of this country by forbidding a human rights demonstration, which is a Hungarian Constitutional right.
This case is showing a trend in which the Chinese Communist Party forces other nations to break their own laws and to deny citizens to exercise their freedoms in their country. Bowing to its pressure is taking a dangerous direction that would cast a shadow on all Hungarian people. It is a matter that affects the entire society.
We call upon the President of the Hungarian Republic to uphold our basic freedoms. We urge the Hungarian government to take a righteous stance on this matter, and grant Hungarian Falun Dafa practitioners permission to hold their peaceful event. Fricskó Sándorné
President of the Hungarian Falun Dafa Association

Background:
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional Chinese spiritual discipline for mind and body. The practice involves slow, gentle movements and meditation. It is easy to learn, enjoyable to practice, and free of charge. Its principles are based on Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Its beneficial effects in uplifting an individual's physical health, spiritual wellbeing, and moral character, not to mention its positive influence in the community and society as a whole, have been undeniable. In fact, Falun Gong is practiced by over 100 million people in 110 countries. The main works of Falun Gong are available in over 30 languages.
Jiang Zemin the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party's banned Falun Gong. His order was: "Ruin their reputation, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically." The rationale behind the campaign can be broken into four elements: Falun Gong’s popularity, the role of Jiang Zemin, conflicting ideology, and the nature of the Chinese Communist Party’s system.
